I am an avid reader. I have been that way from I was very young. I guess my mother instilled it in me. We would reach home in the evenings and she would make a cup of tea, and whilst still in her work clothes, she would sit down with me and read me the story of my choice.
So, it's no wonder that I have done the same for my daughter and now she has an extensive library of books.
So it is a bit hard to choose my favourite children's book, but I can say that I love "Guess How Much I Love You" written by Sam McBratney and Illustrated by Anita Jeram, as this is currently one of my daughter's favourites.
Why do we love it? Because it shows that love can be hard to measure and sometimes cannot be easily quantified. Yet, it is still there.
I love that book too! (& my son) It's a regular in our house, so much so that there are plaques with the quote "to the moon and back" all over the house. The illustrations are cute too... ;o)
ReplyDeleteI love this book!! I can still remember the first time I read it to my son. He was only a few weeks old, and I loved the ending so much, I felt emotional reading it. My 11 year old son and I still say to the moon and back and then we try to make up other stuff.
ReplyDeleteGuess How Much I Love You, is a wonderful children's book. It was the first book that my middle son was exposed to. At five months old he could point out each character, when asked to.
ReplyDeleteI agree with mbs, it is a book that kindles an emotional response, in parents.
