Early Childhood Resources

This week I am learning about the wealth of resources in the Early Childhood Field.  Although the Resources listed in my blog are from the websites of early childhood organizations, I would also like to mention a couple of the other resources which I was exposed to:

• Professional publications, books, biographies and memoirs.
• Internet.
• Colleagues, mentors, friends/family, networks.
• Conferences, meetings.
• Partnerships with the community, the parents and the families of children.
• Media.
• Child care resource centers, libraries.
• Children.
• Self-reflection.

In this blog, I also listed the following Jamaican websites which I discovered:

1)    The Ministry of Education - Jamaica.
The Ministry of Education is the government agency in Jamaica with full responsibility for education in Jamaica.   Its mission is "To provide a system which secures quality education and training for all persons in Jamaica and achieves effective integration of educational and cultural resources in order to optimise individual and national development".

2)  Office of the Children's Advocate - Jamaica.
The Office of the Children's Advocate (OCA) in Jamaica was created under the Child Care and Protection Act, 2004.  The OCA’s vision and mission statements reflect its work to see that the rights of children are protected and enforced and their best interests upheld and encapsulate the desire that rights and best interests and reality must become one in the near future.

3) Early Childhood Commission - Jamaica.
The Vision of the Early Childhood Commission in Jamaica is "All children having access to high quality early childhood development services enabling the realization of their full potential" .
