The Art of Teaching

I look all around me and I see many
shapes, colours and forms

My world is a melting pot of sounds, smells and tastes
All different, all unique.

I look all around me and I see many
smiles, frowns and tears
Families caught in turmoil, victories and change
Not all different, some the same.

Though we all may look, sound and think differently,
There are some inescapable commonalities
that make us similar
We can all relate to:
love
hate
fear
pain
happiness
surprise
anger
joy...

We are all the same yet different.

  1. Your collage is nice. I like various events you chose to share. I also enjoyed reading your poem. The list of things "we can all relate to" was especially nice. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Hi Sheryl,
I liked the pictures you chose to represent the cultural diversity. Pictures showed children’s participation in family and community activities. This is very important as it enables children to develop a sense of identity and belonging, a range of skills and competencies useful for their individual independence. Thanks for sharing these pictures.

  3. Good evening Sheryl,

Your picture is a beautiful collage of diversity. The pictures showed children interacting with family members and those in the community as well.I also enjoyed your poem. What was so sound to me were the words "we are all the same yet different", this is so true and we need to learn how to look beyond the outside of one's cover and learn to work together. Thanks for sharing!

  4. Hello Sheryl,

What a beautiful blog! You touched on all the things that we hold in common. Even if we respond to adversity in different ways we all face it and have to find the resilience to come out on the other side. Great job!

  5. Loved your blog picture and blog. You described diversity well. Yes, we are all the same but different. I wish people could understand that quote better in today's society than what they do. You poem was great also. It described everything that I see as being related to diversity also. Great post!!!
